Experience Design Course Gap Year

Course design

The course contains 3 modules (duration 3 months), with a study-time of 12 hrs/month on location, 6 hrs/month online and approximately 16 hours/month of self-study (research, reading, reflective exercises) and subgroup collaborations.

The training is done outdoors whenever possible and may include hands-on creative activity. Suitable attire for varying weather conditions is advised.

In the second month, there is the possibility to include a field-trip of 1 full day (8 hrs).

At the end of the course, students present their learnings to invitees (each student may bring one person) in an interactive way.

Modules

module 1 Activate Awareness

In the first weeks students learn about awe, embodiment, basic psychology and experience design principles.

module 2 Work together & Wonder

Group research and reflection on what bewilders & brings wonder. In subgroups students. co-create the final interactive presentation. This involves design, planning, (including budgeting, creating, communications) and experimentation.

module 3 Experience & Evaluate

The learnings are integrated and the co-created experience is delivered & documented.
